Holistic Solutions for Autism Spectrum Disorder

1 in 68 children have some form of autism.  What if there was a food you could give to children on the autism spectrum that had a big impact with no side effects?  There very well could be.  This research is incredibly interesting and encouraging.   Young boys with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) given broccoli — especially broccoli sprouts — showed substantial improvement with social interaction, verbal communication and behavior in general.  However, that all stopped when the test subjects went without their broccoli– so they have to keep it up.

I won’t get into the science behind this, I’ll let the video explain – but it has to do with sulforaphane levels in the broccoli.  As little as 2 Tbsp. of broccoli sprouts per day can make a difference– about $.05 worth.  No drug has ever had this type of effect.  Other foods that contain sulforaphane are kale, cauliflower – basically cruciferous veggies.  It’s possibly the most potent natural regulator to oxidative stress in the body.
