FODMAPS are a group of specific carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed in the small intestine, which can lead to gas, bloating and other digestive issues. Often, patients with IBS are advised to follow a low FODMAP diet.
FODMAPS are found in a lot of the foods we commonly eat, including breads, fruits, veggies and pasta. However, once you get a handle on which foods to avoid and which to consume, many of your symptoms can be relieved.
